Julia Morrisroe









Julia Morrisroe is an artist and Associate Professor of drawing and painting at University of Florida and holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from Northern Illinois University and Master of Fine Arts from University of Washington. Morrisroe’s paintings, drawings and installations have been exhibited in over 17 solo exhibitions and 90 groups exhibitions in museums and art galleries worldwide. Her work was included in the national traveling exhibition “Comic Release: Negotiating Identity for the New Generation” which originated at Carnegie Mellon University, (PA). Morrisroe’s paintings, drawings, prints and installations have been included in exhibitions at Purdue University (IN), Bakehouse (Miami), SPACES (OH), US Embassy Bulgaria, First Street Gallery (NY), Ronnebaeksholm, Denmark, Kyoto, Japan, Mobile Museum of Art, (AL), Harn Museum of Art (FL) and Boca Raton Museum of Art (FL). Morrisroe has created site specific projects and public art projects at University of Florida, Jacksonville International Airport, Purdue University, BAKEHOUSE Gallery, Miami FL and the OBRAS Foundation, Netherlands.

Morrisroe maintains the blog 13 Ways of Looking at Painting and is Conference Committee Member of the College Art Association and a board member of 352Walls, an initiative of the Department of Cultural Affairs in Gainesville, FL.
