In response to living in Florence, students will visually document the sights and experiences of the rich artistic and cultural resources of the city past and present.  Various approaches to drawing incorporating historical materials, contemporary expression and cartographic impulses, combined with selected readings, will broaden students understanding of drawing, image construction and their surroundings. Conducted in a classroom and throughout the city, this studio class will intensively explore the birthplace of Dante and Michelangelo.
